ततो वत्सानदृष्ट्वैत्य पुलिनेऽपि च वत्सपान् । उभावपि वने कृष्णो विचिकाय समन्ततः ।। १०-१३-१६ ।।

sanskrit

Thereafter, when Kṛṣṇa was unable to find the calves, He returned to the bank of the river, but there He was also unable to see the cowherd boys. Thus He began to search for both the calves and the boys, as if He could not understand what had happened. ।। 10-13-16 ।।

english translation

तत्पश्चात् जब कृष्ण बछड़ों को खोज न पाये तो वे यमुना के तट पर लौट आये किन्तु वहाँ भी उन्होंने ग्वालबालों को नहीं देखा। इस तरह वे बछड़ों तथा बालकों को ऐसे ढूँढऩे लगे, मानों उनकी समझ में न आ रहा हो कि यह क्या हो गया। ।। १०-१३-१६ ।।
