विच्छायाभिः प्रधावन्तो गच्छन्तः साधु हंसकैः । बकैरुपविशन्तश्च नृत्यन्तश्च कलापिभिः ॥ १०-१२-८ ॥
Some boys imitated flying birds by running after the birds’ shadows on the ground, some imitated the beautiful movements and attractive postures of the swans, some sat down with the ducks, sitting silently, and others imitated the dancing of the peacocks. ॥ 10-12-8 ॥

कुछ बालक उड़ती चिडिय़ों की भूमि पर पडऩे वाली परछाइयों के पीछे दौड़ कर उनकी नकल कर रहे थे, तो कुछ हंसों की सुन्दर गति तथा उनकी आकर्षक मुद्राओं की नकल उतार रहे थे। कुछ चुपचाप बगुलों के पास बैठ गये और अन्य बालक मोरों के नाच की नकल करने लगे। ॥ १०-१२-८ ॥
