उग्रसेनसुतः कंसः स्वसुः प्रियचिकीर्षया । रश्मीन् हयानां जग्राह रौक्मै रथशतैर्वृतः ।। १०-१-३० ।।

sanskrit

Kaṁsa, the son of King Ugrasena, in order to please his sister Devakī on the occasion of her marriage, took charge of the reins of the horses and became the chariot driver. He was surrounded by hundreds of golden chariots. ।। 10-1-30 ।।

english translation

राजा उग्रसेन के पुत्र कंस ने अपनी बहन देवकी को उसके विवाह के अवसर पर प्रसन्न करने की दृष्टि से घोड़ों की लगामें अपने हाथ में थाम लीं और स्वयं रथचालक (सारथी) बन गया। वह सैकड़ों सुनहरे रथों से घिरा था। ।। १०-१-३० ।।
