    तथा विलपतां तेषामतृप्तानां च राघवः । अचक्षुर्विषयं प्रायाद्यथार्कः क्षणदामुखे ॥ २-५०-७tathA vilapatAM teSAmatRptAnAM ca rAghavaH । acakSurviSayaM prAyAdyathArkaH kSaNadAmukhe ॥ 2-50-7 Not yet satisfied (they wanted to linger longer), they stood weeping, while Rama went out of sight just as the Sun disappears at nightfall. ॥ 2-50-7॥

    तेऽभिवाद्य महात्मानं कृत्वा चापि प्रदक्षिणम् । विलपन्तो नरा घोरं व्यतिष्ठन्त क्वचित् क्वचित् ॥ २-५०-६te'bhivAdya mahAtmAnaM kRtvA cApi pradakSiNam । vilapanto narA ghoraM vyatiSThanta kvacit kvacit ॥ 2-50-6All of them paid their homage by circumambulating the highsouled Rama. Crying bitterly, they stood here and there. ॥ 2-50-6॥

    अनुक्रोशो दया चैव यथार्हं मयि वः कृतः । चिरं दुःखस्य पापीयो गम्यतामर्थसिद्धये ॥ २-५०-५anukrozo dayA caiva yathArhaM mayi vaH kRtaH । ciraM duHkhasya pApIyo gamyatAmarthasiddhaye ॥ 2-50-5- 'You have aptly shown your kindness and compassion to me. It is not proper to prolong one's grief. So do go and attend to your duties.' ॥ 2-50-5॥

    ततो रुधिरताम्राक्षो भुजमुद्यम्य दक्षिणम् । अश्रुपूर्णमुखो दीनोऽब्रवीज्जानपदम् जनम् ॥ २-५०-४tato rudhiratAmrAkSo bhujamudyamya dakSiNam । azrupUrNamukho dIno'bravIjjAnapadam janam ॥ 2-50-4He looked miserable, his copperred eyes filled with tears. He raised his right hand and said to the villagers who had come to see him ॥ 2-50-4॥

    निवृत्तवनवासस्त्वामनृणो जगतीपतेः । पुनर्द्रक्ष्यामि मात्रा च पित्रा च सह सङ्गतः ॥ २-५०-३nivRttavanavAsastvAmanRNo jagatIpateH । punardrakSyAmi mAtrA ca pitrA ca saha saGgataH ॥ 2-50-3On completion of exile and my filial obligations to king Dasaratha, lord of the world, discharged, I shall, reunited with my parents, see you again.' ॥ 2-50-3॥

Ayodhya, the best of cities ruled by those born in the Kakutstha race I take leave of you and of all those gods inhabiting and guarding you. ॥ 2-50-2॥
