He is designated variously in relation to the total material energy, and thus, under the strict control of supreme time, he is forced to run here and there within material existence. ॥ 11-28-16 ॥

    एष वै परमो योगो मनसः सङ्ग्रहः स्मृतः । हृदयज्ञत्वमन्विच्छन् दम्यस्येवार्वतो मुहुः ॥ ११-२०-२१ ॥eSa vai paramo yogo manasaH saGgrahaH smRtaH । hRdayajJatvamanvicchan damyasyevArvato muhuH ॥ 11-20-21 ॥An expert horseman, desiring to tame a headstrong horse, first lets the horse have his way for a moment and then, pulling the reins, gradually places the horse on the desired path. Similarly, the supreme yoga process is that by which one carefully observes the movements and desires of the mind and gradually brings them under full control. ॥ 11-20-21 ॥

He continued, "May all living beings, both mobile and immobile, and those that are unseen, hear my words."' ॥ 1-42-11 ॥
