    [य] युष्मान एते हि वक्ष्यन्ति रथाः पञ्च हिरण्मयाः उच्चैः सन्तः परकाशन्ते जवलन्तॊ ऽगनिशिखा इव ॥ १-८८-१३ ॥[ya] yuSmAna ete hi vakSyanti rathAH paJca hiraNmayAH uccaiH santaH parakAzante javalantò 'ganizikhA iva ॥ 1-88-13 ॥'Yayati answered, 'Those five golden cars displayed in glory, and blazing as fire, would indeed, carry you to regions of bliss.'' ॥ 1-88-13 ॥

Countless worlds await you in heaven, all radiant like lightning."' ॥ 1-88-7 ॥

Even living in a populated area, his spirit dwells in the solitude of the forest.' ॥ 1-86-13 ॥

O prince, I have told you all this; if you wish to know more, ask what else you would like me to explain."' ॥ 1-85-5 ॥

    आदिष्टी नोदकं कुर्यादा व्रतस्य समापनात् । समाप्ते तूदकं कृत्वा त्रिरात्रेणैव शुध्यति ॥ ८८ ॥AdiSTI nodakaM kuryAdA vratasya samApanAt । samApte tUdakaM kRtvA trirAtreNaiva zudhyati ॥ 88 ॥He who has undertaken the performance of a vow shall not pour out libations (to the dead) until the vow has been completed; but when he has offered water after its completion, he becomes pure in three days only.

    स्त्रीणामसंस्कृतानां तु त्र्यहात्शुध्यन्ति बान्धवाः । यथौक्तेनैव कल्पेन शुध्यन्ति तु सनाभयः ॥ ७२ ॥strINAmasaMskRtAnAM tu tryahAtzudhyanti bAndhavAH । yathauktenaiva kalpena zudhyanti tu sanAbhayaH ॥ 72 ॥(On the death) of females (betrothed but) not married (the bridegroom and his) relatives are purified after three days, and the paternal relatives become pure according to the same rule.

    परकीयनिपानेषु न स्नायाद् हि कदा चन । निपानकर्तुः स्नात्वा तु दुष्कृतांशेन लिप्यते ॥ २०१ ॥parakIyanipAneSu na snAyAd hi kadA cana । nipAnakartuH snAtvA tu duSkRtAMzena lipyate ॥ 201 ॥Let him never bathe in tanks belonging to other men; if he bathes (in such a one), he is tainted by a portion of the guilt of him who made the tank.

The wife is the first of friends. The wife is the root of religion, profit, and desire. The wife is the root of salvation.' ॥ 1-68-40 ॥
