शिखरं सूर्यसङ्काशं व्यशीर्यत सहस्रधा । व्यवसायं च तं बुद्ध्वा स होवाच महागिरिः ॥ ५-५८-११

मैनाकमिति विख्यातं निवसन्तं महोदधौ । पक्षवन्तः पुरा पुत्त्र बभूवुः पर्वतोत्तमाः ॥ ५-५८-१३
'I am dwelling in this great ocean and known as Mainaka. O son in the past, foremost of the mountains too had wings . - [5-58-13]

छन्दतः पृथिवीं चेरुर्बाधमानाः समन्ततः । श्रुत्वा नगानां चरितं महेन्द्रः पाकशासनः ॥ ५-५८-१४

चिच्छेद भगवान् पक्षान्वज्रेणैषां सहस्रशः । अहं तु मोक्षितस्तस्मात्तव पित्रा महात्मना ॥ ५-५८-१५
- and (God, Indra the lord of celestials) cut off their wings into a thousand pieces with his thunderbolt. I was saved from Indra by your kind father the high-souled . - [5-58-15]
