रक्षणार्थं तु देहस्य प्रतियुद्धा मया रणे । अस्त्रपाशैर्न शक्योऽहं बद्धुं देवासुरैरपि ॥ ५-५०-१६
'Then I fought in self defence in battle. It is not possible to bind me with any bondage of astras even by devas or danavas. [5-50-16]
english translation
पितामहादेष वरो मामाप्येषोऽभ्युपागतः । राजानं द्रष्टुकामेन मयास्त्रमनुवर्तितम् ॥ ५-५०-१७
'Such a boon has been granted to me by Grandfather Brahma. Wishing to see the king I honoured this astra and not otherwise. [5-50-17]
english translation
विमुक्तो ह्यहमस्त्रेण राक्षसैस्त्वभिपीडितः । केनचिद्राजकार्येण सम्प्राप्तोऽस्मि तवान्तिकम् ॥ ५-५०-१८
'Even though I was tormented by the ogres and released by the astra I submitted to you as I have a small work assigned by the king. [5-50-18]
english translation
दूतोऽहमिति विज्ञेयो राघवस्यामितौजसः । श्रूयतां चापि वचनं मम पथ्यमिदं प्रभो ॥ ५-५०-१९
'Know that I am a messenger of the highly powerful Rama. O lord please listen to these beneficial words of mine meant for your welfare.' [5-50-19]
