गते रामे प्रशांतात्मा रामो दाशरथिर्धनुः । वरुणायाप्रमेयाय ददौ हस्ते महायशाः ॥ १-७७-१
When Parashurama departed, Rama, son of Dasharatha with a serene mind gave the bow ( of Vishnu ) along with the arrow to Varuna god of immeasurable strength. ॥ 1-77-1॥
english translation
gate rAme prazAMtAtmA rAmo dAzarathirdhanuH । varuNAyAprameyAya dadau haste mahAyazAH ॥ 1-77-1
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअभिवाद्य ततो रामो वसिष्ठ प्रमुखानृषीन् । पितरं विह्वलं दृष्ट्वा प्रोवाच रघुनंदनः ॥ १-७७-२
Thereafter Rama, the descendant of the Raghus, paid obeisance to Vashishtha and other rishis, and having seen his father who appeared agitated said ॥ 1-77-2॥
english translation
abhivAdya tato rAmo vasiSTha pramukhAnRSIn । pitaraM vihvalaM dRSTvA provAca raghunaMdanaH ॥ 1-77-2
hk transliteration by Sanscriptजामदग्न्यो गतो रामः प्रयातु चतुरङ्गिगिणी । अयोध्याभिमुखी सेना त्वया नाथेन पालिता ॥ १-७७-३
- 'Parashurama, son of Jamadagni, has gone. Let the four divisions of the army of which you are the commander proceed towards Ayodhya. ॥ 1-77-3॥
english translation
jAmadagnyo gato rAmaH prayAtu caturaGgigiNI । ayodhyAbhimukhI senA tvayA nAthena pAlitA ॥ 1-77-3
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसन्दिशस्व महाराज सेनां त्वच्छासने स्थिताम् । शासनं काङ्क्षते सेना चातकालिर्जलं यथा १-७७-४
The army which is under your command, oh ! King, is awaiting your orders like the chatakas awaiting water. Direct them (to proceed). ॥ 1-77-4॥
english translation
sandizasva mahArAja senAM tvacchAsane sthitAm । zAsanaM kAGkSate senA cAtakAlirjalaM yathA 1-77-4
hk transliteration by Sanscriptरामस्य वचनं श्रुत्वा राजा दशरथः सुतम् । बाहुभ्यां संपरिष्वज्य मूर्ध्नि चाघ्राय राघवम् ॥ १-७७-५
On hearing the words of Rama king Dasharatha hugged his son with both of his arms, and kissed on the forehead of Raghava. ॥ 1-77-5॥

rAmasya vacanaM zrutvA rAjA dazarathaH sutam । bAhubhyAM saMpariSvajya mUrdhni cAghrAya rAghavam ॥ 1-77-5
