शितिकण्ठस्य विष्णोश्च बलाबलनिरीक्षया । अभिप्रायं तु विज्ञाय देवतानां पितामहः ॥ १-७५-१५

- ( who is more powerful ?) in order to ascertain the strength and weakness of the blue-throated Shiva and Vishnu. Having come to know the intention of the gods, Grandsire Brahma . - ॥ 1-75-15॥

zitikaNThasya viSNozca balAbalanirIkSayA । abhiprAyaM tu vijJAya devatAnAM pitAmahaH ॥ 1-75-15
