मनुः प्रजापतिः पूर्वमिक्ष्वाकुश्च मनोः सुतः । तमिक्ष्वाकुमयोध्यायां राजानं विद्धि पूर्वकम् ॥ १-७०-२१
Manu was the earliest Prajaapati and Ikshvaaku was the son of Manu, and that Ikshvaaku was the first king of Ayodhyaa . know thus . ॥ 1-70-21॥

manuH prajApatiH pUrvamikSvAkuzca manoH sutaH । tamikSvAkumayodhyAyAM rAjAnaM viddhi pUrvakam ॥ 1-70-21

The son of Ikshvaaku was the legendary Kukshi, thus he was renowned and the famous Vikukshi was the son of Kukshi . ॥ 1-70-22॥

From that most brilliant and courageous Vikukshi, Baana emerged as son, and the highly refulgent and valinat Anaranya was the son of Baana . ॥ 1-70-23॥
