वाक्यं वाक्यविदां श्रेष्ठो वैदेहमिदमब्रवीत् । विदितं ते महाराज इक्ष्वाकुकुलदैवतम् ॥ १-७०-१६
- skilled in speech, said this to the king ( Janaka ) from the lineage of Videha kings : 'Oh ! exalted king ( Janaka ), it is known that the God like to the Ikshvakus race . - ॥ 1-70-16॥
english translation
vAkyaM vAkyavidAM zreSTho vaidehamidamabravIt । viditaM te mahArAja ikSvAkukuladaivatam ॥ 1-70-16
hk transliteration by Sanscriptवक्ता सर्वेषु कृत्येषु वसिष्ठो भगवानृषिः । विश्वामित्राभ्यनुज्ञातः सह सर्वैर्महर्षिभिः ॥ १-७०-१७

vaktA sarveSu kRtyeSu vasiSTho bhagavAnRSiH । vizvAmitrAbhyanujJAtaH saha sarvairmaharSibhiH ॥ 1-70-17
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएष वक्ष्यति धर्मात्मा वसिष्ठो मे यथाक्रमम् । तूष्णींभूते दशरथे वसिष्ठो भगवानृषिः ॥ १-७०-१८

eSa vakSyati dharmAtmA vasiSTho me yathAkramam । tUSNIMbhUte dazarathe vasiSTho bhagavAnRSiH ॥ 1-70-18
hk transliteration by Sanscriptउवाच वाक्यं वाक्यज्ञो वैदेहं सपुरोधसाम् । अव्यक्तप्रभवो ब्रह्मा शाश्वतो नित्य अव्ययः ॥ १-७०-१९
- wellversed in speech, spoke to the Lord of Videhas (Janaka) in the company of priests : 'From the unmanifest was born the eternal, the constant, the imperishable Brahma. ॥ 1-70-19॥

uvAca vAkyaM vAkyajJo vaidehaM sapurodhasAm । avyaktaprabhavo brahmA zAzvato nitya avyayaH ॥ 1-70-19
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतस्मान्मरीचिः संजज्ञे मरीचेः कश्यपः सुतः । विवस्वान् कश्यपाज्जज्ञे मनुर्वैवस्वतः स्मृतः ॥ १-७०-२०
From Brahma, Mariichi was begotten, and Kaashyapa was the son of Mariichi, and the Sun was begotten from Kaashyapa, and Vaivasvat Manu was said to be the son of the Sun . ॥ 1-70-20॥
