तां सत्यनामां दृढतोरणार्गलाम् गृहैर्विचित्रैरुपशोभितां शिवाम् । पुरीमयोध्यां नृसहस्रसंकुलाम् शशास वै शक्रसमो महीपतिः ॥ १-६-२८

With gorgeous arches, castle-door-bars and with amazingly built houses that city is magnificent and auspicious one, and full with thousands of provincial kings too, and king Dasharatha, a coequal of Indra, indeed ruled that city which is true to its name. ॥ 1-6-28॥

english translation

tAM satyanAmAM dRDhatoraNArgalAm gRhairvicitrairupazobhitAM zivAm । purImayodhyAM nRsahasrasaMkulAm zazAsa vai zakrasamo mahIpatiH ॥ 1-6-28
