वासिष्ठा मुनिशार्दूल सर्वे सह महोदयाः । तेषां तद्वचनं श्रुत्वा सर्वेषां मुनिपुंगवः ॥ १-५९-१६
- all the sons of Vashishtha including Mahodaya, oh ! tigerly sage Vishvaamitra. On hearing the words (of the hundred sons of Vashishtha uttered in anger from all of his disciples) Vishvaamitra, preeminent among ascetics - [1-59-16]

क्रोधसंरक्तनयनः सरोषमिदमब्रवीत् । ये दूषयन्त्यदुष्टं मां तपोग्रं समास्थितम् ॥ १-५९-१७
- spoke furiously with eyes reddened in anger : ' Who am abiding in rigorous ascesis and who am an unreprovable one by my ascetic merit - [1-59-17]

भस्मीभूता दुरात्मानो भविष्यन्ति न संशयः । अद्य ते कालपाशेन नीता वैवस्वतक्षयम् ॥ १-५९-१८
- he who reproves me, that irreverent person will be reduced to ashes, and there is no doubt about it. Now they will be dragged by the lasso of Time to the House of Yama, the Terminator. - [1-59-18]

सप्त जातिशतान्येव मृतपाः सन्तु सर्वशः । श्वमांसनियताहारा मुष्टिका नाम निर्घृणाः ॥ १-५९-१९
- From now to seven hundred births to come, they take birth as devourers of corpses, come what may.Reborn as the merciless race of mushtikas, feeding on the flesh of dogs - [1-59-19]

विकृताश्च विरूपाश्च लोकाननुचरन्त्विमान् । महोदयश्च दुर्बुद्धिर्मामदूष्यं ह्यदूषयत् ॥ १-५९-२०
- hideous and deformed, they shall wander in these worlds. The wicked Mahodaya, who blamed a sage like me so faultless . - [1-59-20]
