अब्रवीत् स महात्मनः सर्वानेव कृतांजलिः | शरणं वः प्रपद्येऽहं शरण्यान् शरणागतः || १-५७-१७

- and with folded palms, he addressed all those distinguished sons of Vasishta saying: 'I came as a shelter-seeker seeking the shelter of yours as you are the shelterers of the needy. - [1-57-18]

abravIt sa mahAtmanaH sarvAneva kRtAMjaliH | zaraNaM vaH prapadye'haM zaraNyAn zaraNAgataH || 1-57-17
