तान् सर्वान् पीडितान् दृष्ट्वा सुरान् सुरपतिस्तदा । गमनायोपचक्राम दिशं वरुणपालिताम् ॥ १-३६-२५

The God of Gods Shiva becoming ill at ease to look at all of the distressed gods, began to depart in the westerly direction presided over by Varuna ( Rain-god ). ॥ 1-36-25॥
