स त्वं प्रसादं धर्मज्ञ कुरुष्व मम पुत्रके । मम चैवाल्पभाग्यस्य दैवतं हि भवान् गुरुः ॥ १-२०-२१
"You are the knower of righteousness. Extend your favour to my little son and also to me for I am so who is unfortunate. You are verily my spiritual preceptor and god. ॥ 1-20-21॥
english translation
sa tvaM prasAdaM dharmajJa kuruSva mama putrake । mama caivAlpabhAgyasya daivataM hi bhavAn guruH ॥ 1-20-21
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदेवदानवगंधर्वा यक्षाः पतगपन्नगाः। न शक्ता रावणं सोढुं किं पुनर्मानवा युधि ॥ १-२०-२२
Gods, danavas, gandharvas, yakshas, birds and great serpents cannot withstand Ravana in battle. What are men to him? (They are no match to him). ॥ 1-20-22॥
english translation
devadAnavagaMdharvA yakSAH patagapannagAH। na zaktA rAvaNaM soDhuM kiM punarmAnavA yudhi ॥ 1-20-22
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस तु वीर्यवतां वीर्यमादत्ते युधि रावणः । तेन चाहं न शक्तोऽस्मि संयोद्धुं तस्य वा बलैः ॥ १-२०-२३
But that Ravana depletes the valour of valorous opponents in a battle, I am inadequate to grapple with all his forces, or with him individually - ॥ 1-20-23॥
english translation
sa tu vIryavatAM vIryamAdatte yudhi rAvaNaH । tena cAhaM na zakto'smi saMyoddhuM tasya vA balaiH ॥ 1-20-23
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसबलो वा मुनिश्रेष्ठ सहितो वा ममात्मजैः । कथमप्यमरप्रख्यं संग्रामाणामकोविदम् ॥ १-२०-२४
- either with my entire forces, or with all my sons, oh! eminent sage. Although he (Rama) resembles the celestials but he is not experienced in warfare. ॥ 1-20-24॥
english translation
sabalo vA munizreSTha sahito vA mamAtmajaiH । kathamapyamaraprakhyaM saMgrAmANAmakovidam ॥ 1-20-24
hk transliteration by Sanscriptबालं मे तनयं ब्रह्मन्नैव दास्यामि पुत्रकम् । अथ कालोपमौ युद्धे सुतौ सुन्दोपसुन्दयोः ॥ १-२०-२५
Oh brahman ! he is the one who alleviates me from punnama naraka the hell of sonless fathers . no, on no account shall I spare my boyish son. Further the sons of Sunda and Upasunda by name Maricha and Subahu, they resemble the god of death, Yama. ॥ 1-20-25॥

bAlaM me tanayaM brahmannaiva dAsyAmi putrakam । atha kAlopamau yuddhe sutau sundopasundayoH ॥ 1-20-25
