विष्णोरर्धं महाभागं पुत्रमैक्ष्वाकुनंदनम् | लोहिताक्षं महाबाहुं रक्तौष्ठं दुंदुभिस्वनम् || १-१८-११

- like lotus-red eyes, lengthy arms, roseate lips, voice like drumbeat, and who took birth to delight the Ikshwaku dynasty and who is the greatly blessed epitome of Vishnu. [1-18-11]

कौसल्या शुशुभे तेन पुत्रेणामिततेजसा | यथा वरेण देवानामदितिर्वज्रपाणिना || १-१८-१२

Kaushalya glowed with the undiminished lustre of her son, just as Aditi with her son Indra, the foremost among the gods and the wielder of thunder. [1-18-12]

भरतो नाम कैकेय्यां जज्ञे सत्यपराक्रमः | साक्षाद्विष्णोश्चतुर्भागः सर्वैः समुदितो गुणैः || १-१८-१३

As an incarnation of the fourth part of Visnu, imbued with all virtues, and armed with truth Bharata was born to Kaikeyi. [1-18-13]

अथ लक्ष्मणशत्रुघ्नौ सुमित्राजनयत् सुतौ | वीरौ सर्वास्त्रकुशलौ विष्णोरर्धसमन्वितौ | १-१८-१४

Queen Sumitra then gave birth to two sons who were the embodied epitomes of Vishnu, namely Lakshmana, and Shatrughna, who were valiant ones and experts in all kinds of weaponry. [1-18-14]

पुष्ये जातस्तु भरतो मीनलग्ने प्रसन्नधीः | सार्पे जातौ तु सौमित्री कुळीरेऽभ्युदिते रवौ || १-१८-१५

Bharata endowed with pure intellect was born in meena lagna when pushya nakshatra (star) was in the ascendant. Lakshmana and Shatrughna were born in karka lagna with the star aslesha . [1-18-15]
