मारुतस्यौरसः श्रीमान् हनुमान्नाम वानरः । वज्रसंहननोपेतो वैनतेयसमो जवे ॥ १-१७-१६
Vayu, the windgod, begot a son named Hanuman, with an indestructible body, and one identical in the speed of lady Vinata's son, namely Garuda, the divine eagle vehicle of Vishnu - ॥ 1-17-16॥

mArutasyaurasaH zrImAn hanumAnnAma vAnaraH । vajrasaMhananopeto vainateyasamo jave ॥ 1-17-16
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसर्ववानरमुख्येषु बुद्धिमान् बलवानपि । ते सृष्टा बहुसाहस्रा दशग्रीववधोद्यताः ॥ १-१७-१७
- and among all monkey chiefs he was the intelligent and the indefatigable one too. Thousands of warriors were created to kill Ravana (ten faced one) - ॥ 1-17-17॥
english translation
sarvavAnaramukhyeSu buddhimAn balavAnapi । te sRSTA bahusAhasrA dazagrIvavadhodyatAH ॥ 1-17-17
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअप्रमेयबला वीरा विक्रान्ताः कामरूपिणः । ते गजाचलसंकाशा वपुष्मंतो महाबलाः ॥ १-१७-१८
- those warriors possessing immeasurable strength and courage and capable of assuming any form at will. And they with their elephantine, mountainous and prodigious bodies .- ॥ 1-17-18॥

aprameyabalA vIrA vikrAntAH kAmarUpiNaH । te gajAcalasaMkAzA vapuSmaMto mahAbalAH ॥ 1-17-18
hk transliteration by Sanscriptऋक्षवानरगोपुच्छाः क्षिप्रमेवाभिजज्ञिरे । यस्य देवस्य यद्रूपं वेषो यश्च पराक्रमः ॥ १-१७-१९
- quickly took birth as bears, monkeys, sacred langoors. Those that are procreated have attained the shape, getup and valour of the god that has fathered them - ॥ 1-17-19॥

RkSavAnaragopucchAH kSipramevAbhijajJire । yasya devasya yadrUpaM veSo yazca parAkramaH ॥ 1-17-19
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअजायत समं तेन तस्य तस्य पृथक् पृथक् । गोलांगूलीषु चोत्पन्नाः केचिदुन्नतविक्रमाः ॥ १-१७-२०
- and thus the monkey race was procreated separately and individually. Some endowed with superior valour (even to their godly form) are born to female langoors - ॥ 1-17-20॥

ajAyata samaM tena tasya tasya pRthak pRthak । golAMgUlISu cotpannAH kecidunnatavikramAH ॥ 1-17-20
