नानादेशादनुप्राप्ताः पुरुषाः स्त्रीगणास्तथा । अन्नपानैः सुविहितास्तस्मिन्यज्ञे महात्मनः ॥ १-१४-१६
To that ritual of that great-souled Dasharatha masses of men and women have arrived from different countries, and they are all well-pleased with the sumptuous food and drink supplied. ॥ 1-14-16॥
english translation
nAnAdezAdanuprAptAH puruSAH strIgaNAstathA । annapAnaiH suvihitAstasminyajJe mahAtmanaH ॥ 1-14-16
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअन्नं हि विधिवत्स्वादु प्रशंसन्ति द्विजर्षभाः । अहो तृप्ताः स्म भद्रं त इति शुश्राव राघवः ॥ १-१४-१७
Brahmins having tasted the delicious food cooked in prescribed manner, praised saying "Ah We are fully satisfied. Prosperity to you". Such were the words heard by king Dasaratha. ॥ 1-14-17॥
english translation
annaM hi vidhivatsvAdu prazaMsanti dvijarSabhAH । aho tRptAH sma bhadraM ta iti zuzrAva rAghavaH ॥ 1-14-17
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस्वलंकृताश्च पुरुषा ब्राह्मणान्पर्यवेषयन् । उपासते च तानन्ये सुमृष्टमणिकुण्डलाः ॥ १-१४-१८
While brahmins were being served with food by welldressed men, some others wearing pendents studded with shining jewels assisted them. ॥ 1-14-18॥
english translation
svalaMkRtAzca puruSA brAhmaNAnparyaveSayan । upAsate ca tAnanye sumRSTamaNikuNDalAH ॥ 1-14-18
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकर्मान्तरे तदा विप्रा हेतुवादान्बहूनपि । प्राहुः स्म वाग्मिनो धीराः परस्परजिगीषया ॥ १-१४-१९
Those eminent Brahmans that are good debaters have debated many intellectual debates to defeat each other, during the gap-periods of ritual works. ॥ 1-14-19॥

karmAntare tadA viprA hetuvAdAnbahUnapi । prAhuH sma vAgmino dhIrAH parasparajigISayA ॥ 1-14-19
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदिवसे दिवसे तत्र संस्तरे कुशला द्विजाः । सर्वकर्माणि चक्रुस्ते यथाशास्त्रं प्रचोदिताः ॥ १-१४-२०
Every day in that sacrifice brahmins, skilful in rituals, persuaded (by sage Vasishta), performed all their duties as per tradition. ॥ 1-14-20॥

divase divase tatra saMstare kuzalA dvijAH । sarvakarmANi cakruste yathAzAstraM pracoditAH ॥ 1-14-20
