[वै] स शत्रुसेनां तरसा परणुद्य; गास ता विजित्याथ धनुर्धराग्र्यः दुर्यॊधनायाभिमुखं परयातॊ; भूयॊ ऽरजुनः परियम आजौ चिकीर्षन ॥ ४-४९-१ ॥
'Vaisampayana said, “Having scattered the hostile forces by his might and recovered the kine, that foremost of bowmen, eager for battle once more, set out towards Duryodhana."' ॥ 4-49-1 ॥
english translation
[vai] sa zatrusenAM tarasA paraNudya; gAsa tA vijityAtha dhanurdharAgryaH duryòdhanAyAbhimukhaM parayAtò; bhUyò 'rajunaH pariyama Ajau cikIrSana ॥ 4-49-1 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptगॊषु परयातासु जवेन मत्स्यान; किरीटिनं कृतकार्यं च मत्वा दुर्यॊधनायाभिमुखं परयान्तं; कुरुप्रवीराः सहसाभिपेतुः ॥ ४-४९-२ ॥
'Seeing the cattle rushing back toward the city of the Matsyas, the foremost warriors of the Kurus concluded that Kiritin had already won the day. Suddenly, they closed in upon Arjuna as he advanced towards Duryodhana.' ॥ 4-49-2 ॥

hk transliteration by Sanscriptतेषाम अनीकानि बहूनि गाड्ढं; वयूढानि दृष्ट्वा बलुल धवजानि मत्स्यस्य पुत्रं दविषतां निहन्ता; वैराटिम आमन्त्र्य ततॊ ऽभयुवाच ॥ ४-४९-३ ॥
'And beholding their innumerable divisions drawn up in firm array, with countless banners waving aloft, that slayer of foes addressed the son of the Matsya king and spoke these words.' ॥ 4-49-3 ॥

teSAma anIkAni bahUni gADDhaM; vayUDhAni dRSTvA balula dhavajAni matsyasya putraM daviSatAM nihantA; vairATima Amantrya tatò 'bhayuvAca ॥ 4-49-3 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएतेन तूर्णं परतिपादयेमाञ; शवेतान हयान काञ्चनरश्मि यॊक्त्रान जवेन सर्वेण कुरु परयत्नम; आसादयैतद रथसिंहवृन्दम ॥ ४-४९-४ ॥
'Urge onward, at their utmost speed along this path, these white steeds adorned with golden bridles. Put forth thy best effort, for I would press upon this host of Kuru lions.' ॥ 4-49-4 ॥

etena tUrNaM paratipAdayemAJa; zavetAna hayAna kAJcanarazmi yòktrAna javena sarveNa kuru parayatnama; AsAdayaitada rathasiMhavRndama ॥ 4-49-4 ॥

'Like an elephant longing for the clash with its rival, the Suta’s son of wicked heart burns for combat with me. Bear me, O prince, to him who has grown arrogant under Duryodhana’s patronage.' ॥ 4-49-5 ॥
