ततः शङ्खं परदध्मौ स दविषतां लॊमहर्षणम विस्फार्य च धनुःश्रेष्ठं धवजे भूतान्य अचॊदयत ॥ ४-४८-२१ ॥
'Then Arjuna blew his conch—a sound that ever made the hair of his foes stand on end. Bending the peerless Gandiva, he set the divine creatures upon his banner to roar in dreadful unison.' ॥ 4-48-21 ॥
english translation
tataH zaGkhaM paradadhmau sa daviSatAM lòmaharSaNama visphArya ca dhanuHzreSThaM dhavaje bhUtAnya acòdayata ॥ 4-48-21 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतस्य शङ्खस्य शब्देन रथनेमि सवनेन च अमानुषाणां तेषां च भूतानां धवजवासिनाम ॥ ४-४८-२२ ॥
'At the blast of that conch, the rumble of his chariot wheels, and the cries of the superhuman beings dwelling upon his banner .' ॥ 4-48-22 ॥
english translation
tasya zaGkhasya zabdena rathanemi savanena ca amAnuSANAM teSAM ca bhUtAnAM dhavajavAsinAma ॥ 4-48-22 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptऊर्ध्वं पुच्छान विधुन्वाना रेभमाणाः समन्ततः गावः परतिन्यवर्तन्त दिशम आस्थाय दक्षिणाम ॥ ४-४८-२३ ॥
'The supernatural cries from his ensign, the very earth began to quake. Startled, the kine tossed their tails high and, lowing together, turned back along the southern road.' ॥ 4-48-23 ॥

UrdhvaM pucchAna vidhunvAnA rebhamANAH samantataH gAvaH paratinyavartanta dizama AsthAya dakSiNAma ॥ 4-48-23 ॥
