न हय एनम अभिसंक्रुद्धम एकॊ युध्येत संयुगे अन्यॊ देवात सहस्राक्षात कृष्णाद वा देवकी सुतात ।। ४-४८-१६ ।।

'For when roused to wrath, none unassisted can withstand him in battle, save the thousand-eyed god himself or Krishna, son of Devaki.' ।। 4-48-16 ।।

english translation

na haya enama abhisaMkruddhama ekò yudhyeta saMyuge anyò devAta sahasrAkSAta kRSNAda vA devakI sutAta || 4-48-16 ||

किं नॊ गावः करिष्यन्ति धनं वा विपुलं तथा दुर्यॊधनः पार्थ जले पुरा नौर इव मज्जति ।। ४-४८-१७ ।।

'Of what worth to us would be the kine, or this vast wealth, if Duryodhana were to founder like a ship in the ocean of Partha?' ।। 4-48-17 ।।

english translation

kiM nò gAvaH kariSyanti dhanaM vA vipulaM tathA duryòdhanaH pArtha jale purA naura iva majjati || 4-48-17 ||

तथैव गत्वा बीभत्सुर नाम विश्राव्य चात्मनः शलभैर इव तां सेनां शरैः शीघ्रम अवाकिरत ।। ४-४८-१८ ।।

'Meanwhile, Vibhatsu, having advanced towards that division of the host, loudly proclaimed his name, and swiftly shrouded the troops in arrows thick as swarming locusts.' ।। 4-48-18 ।।

english translation

tathaiva gatvA bIbhatsura nAma vizrAvya cAtmanaH zalabhaira iva tAM senAM zaraiH zIghrama avAkirata || 4-48-18 ||

कीर्यमाणाः शरौघैस तु यॊधास ते पार्थ चॊदितैः नापश्यन नावृतां भूमिम अन्तरिक्षं च पत्रिभिः ।। ४-४८-१९ ।।

'Beneath that countless storm of shafts from Partha’s hand, neither earth nor sky could be seen, both alike obscured in the deluge.' ।। 4-48-19 ।।

english translation

kIryamANAH zaraughaisa tu yòdhAsa te pArtha còditaiH nApazyana nAvRtAM bhUmima antarikSaM ca patribhiH || 4-48-19 ||

तेषां नात्मनिनॊ युद्धे नापयाने ऽभवन मतिः शीघ्रत्वम एव पार्थस्य पूजयन्ति सम चेतसा ।। ४-४८-२० ।।

'The warriors, though ready for battle, stood confounded—so bewildered that not one could even turn to flee. And all who beheld the flawless swiftness of Partha’s aim praised it inwardly, struck with silent wonder.' ।। 4-48-20 ।।

teSAM nAtmaninò yuddhe nApayAne 'bhavana matiH zIghratvama eva pArthasya pUjayanti sama cetasA || 4-48-20 ||
