सततं धूपयेच्चैनं श्वगोमांसैः सुपूतिभिः । सर्षपानां च तैलेन नस्याभ्यङ्गौ हितौ सदा ॥१६॥

The patient should be constantly fumigated with well-cooked dog meat or beef, and mustard oil should be used for nasal administration and body massage. These methods are always beneficial for treating the condition.

The patient should be shown terrifying sights, such as the destruction of a loved one, or images of fierce men, snakes, lions, and poisonous creatures. This can help induce a response in the patient.

भीषयेत् संयतं पाशैः कशाभिर्वाऽथ ताडयेत् । यन्त्रयित्वा सुगुप्तं वां त्रासयेत्तं तृणाग्निना ॥१८॥

The patient should be frightened by binding them with ropes or cords, or by beating them. They should also be terrorized secretly using a fire from dry grass, in order to induce fear.

जलेन तर्जयेद्वाऽपि रज्जुघातैर्विभावयेत् । बलवांश्चापि संरक्षेत् जलेऽन्तः परिवासयेत् । प्रतुदेदारया चैनं मर्माघातं विवर्जयेत् । वेश्मनोऽन्तः प्रविश्यैनं रक्षंस्तद्वेश्म दीपयेत् ॥१९॥

The patient should be frightened by water or by striking with ropes, and their fears should be intensified. The person should also be protected by strong measures, and a fire should be lit inside their house. The practitioner should avoid striking vital points and should be cautious of causing harm. The patient should be kept inside a secure dwelling, where they are shielded and watched over.

सापिधाने जरत्कूपे सततं वा निवासयेत् । त्र्यहात्त्र्यहाद्यवागूश्च तर्पणान् वा प्रदापयेत् ॥२०॥

The patient should be kept in a well-closed place or a deep pit (jarat-kupa) for continuous monitoring. After three days, three additional days, and another three days, they should be treated with nourishing substances or given appropriate therapeutic offerings.

रोगी को निरंतर निगरानी के लिए अच्छी तरह से बंद जगह या गहरे गड्ढे (जरत-कूप) में रखा जाना चाहिए। तीन दिन, तीन अतिरिक्त दिन और फिर तीन दिन के बाद, उन्हें पौष्टिक पदार्थों से उपचारित किया जाना चाहिए या उचित चिकित्सीय प्रसाद दिया जाना चाहिए।
