वर्षाभूयष्ट्याह्वमधूकलाक्षात्वक्कर्बुदाराङ्कुरजीरकाणि । द्राक्षां च कृष्णामथ केशरं च क्षीरे समालोड्य पिबेत् सुखेप्सुः ॥४६॥

The person desiring happiness should mix honey, madhuka, twak (cinnamon), cardamom, and the sprouts of ginger. Then, adding black grapes, saffron, and milk, they should drink this mixture for joy.

सुख चाहने वाले व्यक्ति को शहद, मधुका, त्वक (दालचीनी), इलायची और अदरक के अंकुरों को मिलाकर, उसमें काली द्राक्ष, केसर और दूध डालकर पीना चाहिए, जिससे सुख की प्राप्ति होती है।

भवेच्च मद्येन तु येन पातितः प्रकामपीतेन सुरासवादिना । तदेव तस्मै विधिवत् प्रदापयेद्विपर्यये भ्रंशमवश्यमृच्छति ॥४७॥

One who has drunk wine, especially in excess, or has indulged in an excessive taste for intoxicating drinks, should be given the same wine in the proper way according to the prescribed method. Otherwise, the result will be the opposite, leading to a decline and certain suffering.

जो व्यक्ति शराब पी चुका है, विशेष रूप से अधिक मात्रा में, या नशीले पेय पदार्थों का अत्यधिक स्वाद ले चुका है, उसे वही शराब उचित तरीके से, निर्धारित विधि के अनुसार पिलानी चाहिए। अन्यथा परिणाम विपरीत होगा, जिससे पतन और निश्चित कष्ट होगा।

यथा नरेन्द्रोपहतस्य कस्यचिद्भवेत् प्रसादस्तत एव नान्यतः । ध्रुवं तथा मद्यहतस्य देहिनो भवेत् प्रसादस्तत एव नान्यतः ॥४८॥

Just as a king's favor is bestowed upon someone who has pleased him, and not otherwise, similarly, a person who is harmed by wine will only attain relief or favor from it in the prescribed manner and not in any other way.

जिस प्रकार राजा की कृपा उसी पर होती है जिस पर उसकी कृपा होती है, अन्यथा नहीं, उसी प्रकार मदिरा से पीड़ित व्यक्ति को भी उसके द्वारा निर्धारित विधि से ही राहत या कृपा प्राप्त होती है, अन्य किसी विधि से नहीं।

A person who suddenly consumes excessive wine will experience the consequences of overindulgence, and the disorders caused by such excessive drinking will inevitably arise.

जो व्यक्ति अचानक अत्यधिक शराब पी लेता है, उसे अतिभोग के परिणाम भुगतने पड़ेंगे, तथा अत्यधिक शराब पीने से उत्पन्न विकार अवश्यंभावी रूप से उत्पन्न होंगे।

The qualities of alcohol, such as those related to fire and air, drain the body’s channels (srotas) and lead to dehydration, thereby causing thirst.
