Similarly, the wise physician should advise on the treatments for all types of fevers based on the proper understanding of the bodily fluids (Rasas) and the combined influence of all the Doshas, and should also identify the affected tissues (Dhatus).

english translation

इसी प्रकार, बुद्धिमान चिकित्सक को शरीर के तरल पदार्थों (रसों) और सभी दोषों के संयुक्त प्रभाव की उचित समझ के आधार पर सभी प्रकार के बुखारों के उपचार की सलाह देनी चाहिए, तथा प्रभावित ऊतकों (धातुओं) की भी पहचान करनी चाहिए।

द्वन्द्वजं द्वन्द्वजैरेव दोषैश्चापि वदेत् कृतम् | गम्भीरस्तु ज्वरो ज्ञेयो ह्यन्तर्दाहेन तृष्णया ||९२||

A fever caused by a combination of opposing Doshas (known as Dvandvaja) should be identified as such, and if it is severe, it is to be recognized as a deep fever associated with internal heat and thirst.

A fever that arises with excessive weakness, breathlessness, cough, and is accompanied by a loss of sensory perception and severe nausea, is considered to be a condition where the individual is greatly impaired.

ऐसा बुखार जो अत्यधिक कमजोरी, सांस फूलने, खांसी के साथ आता है, तथा साथ ही संवेदी अनुभूति की हानि और गंभीर मतली भी होती है, वह ऐसी स्थिति मानी जाती है जिसमें व्यक्ति की कार्यक्षमता बहुत अधिक क्षीण हो जाती है।

A fever that is intense and sharp, causing severe distress, should be avoided in cases where it is accompanied by either very mild, moderate, or severe imbalances of the doshas, and persists for periods ranging from three to twelve weeks.

तीव्र और तीक्ष्ण ज्वर, जो गंभीर कष्ट देता है, से उन मामलों में बचना चाहिए, जहां यह दोषों के बहुत हल्के, मध्यम या गंभीर असंतुलन के साथ हो, तथा तीन से बारह सप्ताह तक बना रहे।
