तृतीयकस्तृतीयेऽह्नि चतुर्थेऽह्नि चतुर्थकः । वातेनोदीर्यमाणाश्च ह्रीयमाणाश्च सर्वतः । एकद्विदोषा मर्त्यानां तस्मिन्नेवोदितेऽहनि ॥७१॥
The one who experiences fever on the third day is called "Tritīyaka." The one who experiences fever on the fourth day is called "Chaturthaka." Those afflicted by this fever, caused by Vāta (air element), are weakened and exhausted in all directions. When fever arises on the same day for individuals suffering from one or two doshas (imbalances), it is known to occur during the onset of the day.

तीसरे दिन बुखार आने वाले को "तृतीयक" कहते हैं। चौथे दिन बुखार आने वाले को "चतुर्थक" कहते हैं। वात (वायु तत्व) के कारण होने वाले इस बुखार से पीड़ित व्यक्ति हर तरफ से कमजोर और थका हुआ होता है। जब एक या दो दोषों (असंतुलन) से पीड़ित व्यक्तियों को एक ही दिन बुखार आता है, तो यह दिन की शुरुआत में होता है।
