कफेन कण्डूः प्रचितेन कर्णयोर्भृशं भवेत् स्रोतसि कर्णसञ्ज्ञिते | विशोषिते श्लेष्मणि पित्ततेजसा नृणां भवेत् स्रोतसि कर्णगूथकः ||११||

When the Kapha causes intense itching in the ears, it becomes evident in the ear canal, and when the mucus (Kapha) dries up, the heat of Pitta acts on it, leading to the condition called Karna-Gutha (mucous accumulation in the ear).

When the dried accumulation in the ear becomes liquefied and reaches the nostrils, it is called Karna-Prati-naha. This leads to a disease characterized by a choked sensation in the ear and a burning feeling in the head.

When insects, such as mosquitoes or other creatures, create a disturbance or when there is a feeling of dizziness or unconsciousness, the ear is described as being affected by the presence of vermin. This condition is known as Krimi-karna, which is marked by the inability to hear and is treated by physicians using the appropriate remedies.

An abscess (Vidradhi) arises due to injury or trauma, and it is caused by an imbalance of the doshas. This condition leads to a discharge of blood, yellow, or reddish fluids, accompanied by sweat and pus. The abscess also causes a burning sensation, and a foul-smelling discharge, indicating the severity of the disease.

There will be suppuration (Paka) due to the aggravation of Pitta, which causes intense irritation and moisture in the ears. When the Kapha is obstructed in the channels, the Pitta's heat accumulates, and it causes a severe burning sensation when it becomes liquefied.
