पक्ष्मवर्त्मगतः सन्धिर्वर्त्मशुक्लगतोऽपरः । शुक्लकृष्णगतस्त्वन्यः कृष्णदृष्टिगतोऽपरः । ततः कनीनकगतः षष्ठश्चापाङ्गगः स्मृतः ॥१६॥
The joint (sandhi) located at the edge of the eyelashes (pakṣmavṛttma) is followed by another joint that is white in color. Next, there is a joint that is a combination of white and black. After that, a joint associated with the black vision is found. Then, the fifth joint, called the "kanīnakagata," is known as the sixth, and it is associated with the angle of the eye (āpāṅgaga).

hk transliteration by Sanscriptद्वे वर्त्मपटले विद्याच्चत्वार्यन्यानि चाक्षिणि । जायते तिमिरं येषु व्याधिः परमदारुणः ॥१७॥
There are two joints (vartma-patala) that are located in the eye, and four other joints that are found in the eye's structure. These joints are associated with the onset of darkness (timira), and in these joints, the disease becomes extremely severe and intense.

आँख में दो जोड़ (वर्त्म-पटल) होते हैं, और आँख की संरचना में चार अन्य जोड़ पाए जाते हैं। ये जोड़ अंधकार (तिमिरा) की शुरुआत से जुड़े होते हैं, और इन जोड़ों में रोग अत्यंत गंभीर और तीव्र हो जाता है।

The external (bāhya) layer, which is associated with the watery essence (tejo-jalāśrita), is one joint; another joint is influenced by the essence of fat (piśita-āśrita). The third joint is associated with the meda (fat), and another one is related to the tissue (sthī) layer.

tejojalAzritaM bAhyaM teSvanyat pizitAzritam । medastRtIyaM paTalamAzritaM tvasthi cAparam ॥18॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपञ्चमांशसमं दृष्टेस्तेषां बाहुल्यमिष्यते । सिराणां कण्डराणां च मेदसः कालकस्य च ॥१९॥
When the vision is equal to one-fifth (panchamāṃśa-sama), their predominance (bāhulya) will be observed in the arteries (sirāṇām), tendons (kaṇḍarāṇām), fat (medasaḥ), and the time of blackness (kālakasya).

जब दृष्टि पंचमांश-समा के बराबर होगी, तब उनकी प्रधानता (बाहुल्य) धमनियों (सिरणाम), कंडराणाम (कण्डराणाम), मेदस (मेदस) तथा काल (कालकस्य) में देखी जाएगी।

hk transliteration by Sanscriptगुणाः कालात् परः श्लेष्मा बन्धनेऽक्ष्णोः सिरायुतः । सिरानुसारिभिर्दोषैर्विगुणैरूर्ध्वमागतैः ॥२०॥
The qualities (guṇāḥ) of time (kālat) beyond (parah) are related to the mucus (śleṣmā), which binds the eyes (akṣṇoḥ) along with the veins (sirāyutaḥ). The doshas (improper humors) that accompany the veins (sirānusāribhiḥ) and ascend (ūrdhvam āgatāḥ) are defective (viguṇaiḥ).
