श्रीशुक उवाच पीते गरे वृषाङ्केण प्रीतास्तेऽमरदानवाः । ममन्थुस्तरसा सिन्धुं हविर्धानी ततोऽभवत् ।‌। ८-८-१ ।।

sanskrit

Śukadeva Gosvāmī continued: Upon Lord Śiva’s drinking the poison, both the demigods and the demons, being very pleased, began to churn the ocean with renewed vigor. As a result of this, there appeared a cow known as surabhi. ।‌। 8-8-1 ।।

english translation

शुकदेव गोस्वामी ने आगे कहा : शिवजी द्वारा विषपान कर लिये जाने पर देवता तथा दानव दोनों ही अत्यधिक प्रसन्न हुए और नवीन उत्साह के साथ समुद्र का मन्थन करने लगे। इसके फलस्वरूप सुरभि नामक गाय उत्पन्न हुई। ।‌। ८-८-१ ।।
