तस्यानुभावः कथितो गुणाश्च परमोदयाः । भौमान् रेणून् स विममे यो विष्णोर्वर्णयेद्गुणान् ॥ ८-५-६ ॥
Although the great activities and transcendental qualities of the Supreme Personality of Godhead’s various incarnations are wonderfully described, sometimes we are unable to understand them. Yet everything is possible for Lord Viṣṇu. If one could count the atoms of the universe, then he could count the qualities of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. But no one can count the atoms of the universe, nor can anyone count the transcendental qualities of the Lord. ॥ 8-5-6 ॥

यद्यपि भगवान् के विविध अवतारों के महान् कार्यों तथा दिव्य गुणों का अद्भुत रीति से वर्णन किया जाता है, किन्तु कभी-कभी हम उन्हें नहीं समझ पाते। किन्तु भगवान् विष्णु के लिए सब कुछ सम्भव है। यदि कोई ब्रह्माण्ड के सारे परमाणुओं को गिन सके तो वह भगवान् के गुणों की गणना कर सकता है। किन्तु ऐसा कर पाना सम्भव नहीं है। अत: कोई भी भगवान् के दिव्य गुणों को नहीं गिन सकता। ॥ ८-५-६ ॥

षष्ठश्च चक्षुषः पुत्रश्चाक्षुषो नाम वै मनुः । पूरुपूरुषसुद्युम्नप्रमुखाश्चाक्षुषात्मजाः ॥ ८-५-७ ॥
The son of Cakṣu known as Cākṣuṣa was the sixth Manu. He had many sons, headed by Pūru, Pūruṣa and Sudyumna. ॥ 8-5-7 ॥

चक्षु का पुत्र चाक्षुष कहलाया जो छठा मनु था। उसके कई पुत्र थे जिनमें पूरु, पूरुष तथा सुद्युम्न प्रमुख थे। ॥ ८-५-७ ॥

इन्द्रो मन्त्रद्रुमस्तत्र देवा आप्यादयो गणाः । मुनयस्तत्र वै राजन् हविष्मद्वीरकादयः ॥ ८-५-८ ॥
During the reign of Cākṣuṣa Manu, the King of heaven was known as Mantradruma. Among the demigods were the Āpyas, and among the great sages were Haviṣmān and Vīraka. ॥ 8-5-8 ॥

चाक्षुष मनु के राज्यकाल में स्वर्ग का राजा मंत्रद्रुम के नाम से विख्यात था। देवताओं में आप्यगण तथा सप्तर्षियों में हविष्मान् तथा वीरक प्रमुख थे। ॥ ८-५-८ ॥

तत्रापि देवः सम्भूत्यां वैराजस्याभवत्सुतः । अजितो नाम भगवानंशेन जगतः पतिः ॥ ८-५-९ ॥
In this sixth manvantara millennium, Lord Viṣṇu, the master of the universe, appeared in His partial expansion. He was begotten by Vairāja in the womb of his wife, Devasambhūti, and His name was Ajita. ॥ 8-5-9 ॥

इस छठे मन्वन्तर में ब्रह्माण्ड के स्वामी भगवान् विष्णु अपने अंश रूप में प्रकट हुए। वे वैराज की पत्नी देवसम्भूति के गर्भ से उत्पन्न हुए और उनका नाम अजित था। ॥ ८-५-९ ॥

पयोधिं येन निर्मथ्य सुराणां साधिता सुधा । भ्रममाणोऽम्भसि धृतः कूर्मरूपेण मन्दरः ॥ ८-५-१० ॥
By churning the Ocean of Milk, Ajita produced nectar for the demigods. In the form of a tortoise, He moved here and there, carrying on His back the great mountain known as Mandara. ॥ 8-5-10 ॥

क्षीरसागर का मंथन करके अजित ने देवताओं के लिए अमृत उत्पन्न किया। कछुवे के रूप में वे महान् मन्दर पर्वत को अपनी पीठ पर धारण किये इधर-उधर हिल-डुल रहे थे। ॥ ८-५-१० ॥
