यस्य ब्रह्मादयो देवा वेदा लोकाश्चराचराः । नामरूपविभेदेन फल्ग्व्या च कलया कृताः ॥ ८-३-२२ ॥

The Supreme Personality of Godhead creates His minor parts and parcels, the jīva-tattva, beginning with Lord Brahmā, the demigods and the expansions of Vedic knowledge ॥ Sāma, Ṛg, Yajur and Atharva॥ and including all other living entities, moving and nonmoving, with their different names and characteristics. ॥ 8-3-22 ॥

english translation

भगवान् अपने सूक्ष्म अंश जीव तत्त्व की सृष्टि करते हैं जिसमें ब्रह्मा, देवता तथा वैदिक ज्ञान के अंग (साम, ऋग्, यजुर् तथा अथर्व) से लेकर अपने-अपने नामों तथा गुणों सहित समस्त चर तथा अचर प्राणी सम्मिलित हैं। ॥ ८-३-२२ ॥
