क्षीणरिक्थश्च्युतः स्थानात्क्षिप्तो बद्धश्च शत्रुभिः । ज्ञातिभिश्च परित्यक्तो यातनामनुयापितः ॥ ८-२२-२९ ॥
Although bereft of his riches, fallen from his original position, defeated and arrested by his enemies, rebuked and deserted by his relatives and friends, although suffering the pain of being bound and although rebuked and cursed by his spiritual master ॥ 8-22-29 ॥
english translation
बलि महाराज यद्यपि धनविहीन, अपने मौलिक पद से च्युत, अपने शत्रुओं द्वारा पराजित तथा बन्दी बनाये गये, अपने कुटुम्बियों तथा मित्रों द्वारा भर्त्सित हुए और परित्यक्त, बाँधे जाने की पीड़ा से पीडि़त तथा अपने गुरु द्वारा भर्त्सित तथा शापित थे, ॥ ८-२२-२९ ॥
