न ह्यसत्यात्परोऽधर्म इति होवाच भूरियम् । सर्वं सोढुमलं मन्ये ऋतेऽलीकपरं नरम् ॥ ८-२०-४ ॥
There is nothing more sinful than untruthfulness. Because of this, mother earth once said, “I can bear any heavy thing except a person who is a liar.” ॥ 8-20-4 ॥

असत्य से बढक़र पापमय कुछ भी नहीं है। इसी कारण से एक बार माता पृथ्वी ने कहा था, “मैं किसी भी भारी बोझ को सहन कर सकती हूँ, किसी झूठे व्यक्ति को नहीं।” ॥ ८-२०-४ ॥
