भुक्तवत्सु च सर्वेषु दीनान्धकृपणेषु च । विष्णोस्तत्प्रीणनं विद्वान् भुञ्जीत सह बन्धुभिः ।। ८-१६-५६ ।।

sanskrit

One should distribute viṣṇu-prasāda to everyone, including the poor man, the blind man, the nondevotee and the non-brāhmaṇa. Knowing that Lord Viṣṇu is very pleased when everyone is sumptuously fed with viṣṇu-prasāda, the performer of yajña should then take prasāda with his friends and relatives. ।। 8-16-56 ‌।।

english translation

मनुष्य को चाहिए कि वह दरिद्र, अन्धे, अभक्त तथा अब्राह्मण हर व्यक्ति को विष्णु-प्रसाद बाँटे। यह जानते हुए कि जब हर एक व्यक्ति पेट भरकर विष्णु-प्रसाद पा लेता है, तो भगवान् विष्णु परम प्रसन्न होते हैं, यज्ञकर्ता को अपने मित्रों तथा सम्बन्धियों सहित प्रसाद ग्रहण करना चाहिए। ।। ८-१६-५६ ।।

नृत्यवादित्रगीतैश्च स्तुतिभिः स्वस्तिवाचकैः । कारयेत्तत्कथाभिश्च पूजां भगवतोऽन्वहम् ।। ८-१६-५७ ।।

sanskrit

Every day from pratipat to trayodaśī, one should continue the ceremony, to the accompaniment of dancing, singing, the beating of a drum, the chanting of prayers and all-auspicious mantras, and recitation of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. In this way, one should worship the Supreme Personality of Godhead. ।। 8-16-57 ।।

english translation

प्रतिपदा से त्रयोदशी तक इस अनुष्ठान को मनुष्य प्रतिदिन नाच, गाना, बाजा, स्तुति तथा शुभ मंत्रोच्चार एवं श्रीमद्भागवत के पाठ के साथ-साथ जारी रखे। इस प्रकार मनुष्य भगवान् की पूजा करे। ।। ८-१६-५७ ।।

एतत्पयोव्रतं नाम पुरुषाराधनं परम् । पितामहेनाभिहितं मया ते समुदाहृतम् ।। ८-१६-५८ ।।

sanskrit

This is the religious ritualistic ceremony known as payo-vrata, by which one may worship the Supreme Personality of Godhead. I received this information from Brahmā, my grandfather, and now I have described it to you in all details. ।। 8-16-58 ।।

english translation

यह धार्मिक अनुष्ठान पयोव्रत कहलाता है, जिसके द्वारा भगवान् की पूजा की जा सकती है। यह ज्ञान मुझे अपने पितामह ब्रह्माजी से मिला और अब मैंने विस्तार के साथ इसका वर्णन तुमसे किया है। ।। ८-१६-५८ ।।

etatpayovrataM nAma puruSArAdhanaM param | pitAmahenAbhihitaM mayA te samudAhRtam || 8-16-58 ||

त्वं चानेन महाभागे सम्यक् चीर्णेन केशवम् । आत्मना शुद्धभावेन नियतात्मा भजाव्ययम् ।। ८-१६-५९ ।।

sanskrit

O most fortunate lady, establishing your mind in a good spirit, execute this process of payo-vrata and thus worship the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Keśava, who is inexhaustible. ।। 8-16-59 ।।

english translation

हे परम भाग्यशालिनी! तुम अपने मन को शुद्ध भाव में स्थिर करके इस पयोव्रत विधि को सम्पन्न करो और इस तरह अच्युत भगवान् केशव की पूजा करो। ।। ८-१६-५९ ।।

tvaM cAnena mahAbhAge samyak cIrNena kezavam | AtmanA zuddhabhAvena niyatAtmA bhajAvyayam || 8-16-59 ||

अयं वै सर्वयज्ञाख्यः सर्वव्रतमिति स्मृतम् । तपःसारमिदं भद्रे दानं चेश्वरतर्पणम् ।। ८-१६-६० ।।

sanskrit

This payo-vrata is also known as sarva-yajña. In other words, by performing this sacrifice one can perform all other sacrifices automatically. This is also acknowledged to be the best of all ritualistic ceremonies. O gentle lady, it is the essence of all austerities, and it is the process of giving charity and pleasing the supreme controller. ।। 8-16-60 ।।

english translation

यह पयोव्रत सर्वयज्ञ भी कहलाता है। दूसरे शब्दों में, इस यज्ञ को सम्पन्न कर लेने पर अन्य सारे यज्ञ स्वत: सम्पन्न हो जाते हैं। इसे समस्त अनुष्ठानों में सर्वश्रेष्ठ भी माना गया है। हे भद्रे! यह समस्त तपस्याओं का सार है और दान देने तथा परम नियन्ता को प्रसन्न करने की विधि है। ।। ८-१६-६० ।।
