Srimad Bhagavatam
अपि वाकुशलं किञ्चिद्गृहेषु गृहमेधिनि । धर्मस्यार्थस्य कामस्य यत्र योगो ह्ययोगिनाम् ॥ ८-१६-५ ॥
O my wife, who are very much attached to household life, if the principles of religion, economic development and satisfaction of the senses are properly followed in household life, one’s activities are as good as those of a transcendentalist. I wonder whether there have been any discrepancies in following these principles. ॥ 8-16-5 ॥
english translation
हे गृहस्थ जीवन में अनुरक्त मेरी पत्नी! यदि कोई गृहस्थ जीवन में धर्म, अर्थ तथा काम का समुचित पालन करता है, तो उसके कार्यकलाप एक अध्यात्मवादी (योगी) के ही समान श्रेष्ठ होते हैं। मुझे आश्चर्य है कि क्या इन नियमों के पालन में कोई त्रुटि आ गई है? ॥ ८-१६-५ ॥
