स विधास्यति ते कामान् हरिर्दीनानुकम्पनः । अमोघा भगवद्भक्तिर्नेतरेति मतिर्मम ॥ ८-१६-२१ ॥
The Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is very merciful to the poor, will fulfill all of your desires, for devotional service unto Him is infallible. Any method other than devotional service is useless. That is my opinion. ॥ 8-16-21 ॥

दीनों पर अत्यन्त दयालु भगवान् तुम्हारी सारी इच्छाओं को पूरा करेंगे क्योंकि उनकी भक्ति अच्युत है। भक्ति के अतिरिक्त अन्य सारी विधियाँ व्यर्थ हैं। ऐसा मेरा मत है। ॥ ८-१६-२१ ॥

अदितिरुवाच केनाहं विधिना ब्रह्मन्नुपस्थास्ये जगत्पतिम् । यथा मे सत्यसङ्कल्पो विदध्यात्स मनोरथम् ॥ ८-१६-२२ ॥
Śrīmatī Aditi said: O brāhmaṇa, tell me the regulative principles by which I may worship the supreme master of the world so that He will be pleased with me and fulfill all my desires. ॥ 8-16-22 ॥

श्रीमती अदिति ने कहा : हे ब्राह्मण! मुझे वह विधि-विधान बतलायें जिससे मैं जगन्नाथ की पूजा कर सकूँ और भगवान् मुझसे प्रसन्न होकर मेरी समस्त इच्छाओं को पूरा कर दें। ॥ ८-१६-२२ ॥

आदिश त्वं द्विजश्रेष्ठ विधिं तदुपधावनम् । आशु तुष्यति मे देवः सीदन्त्याः सह पुत्रकैः ॥ ८-१६-२३ ॥
O best of the brāhmaṇas, kindly instruct me in the perfect method of worshiping the Supreme Personality of Godhead in devotional service, by which the Lord may very soon be pleased with me and save me, along with my sons, from this most dangerous condition. ।। 8-16-23 ॥

हे ब्राह्मणश्रेष्ठ! कृपा करके मुझे भगवान् की भक्तिपूर्वक पूजा की पूर्ण विधि का उपदेश दें जिससे भगवान् मुझ पर तुरन्त ही प्रसन्न हो जायें और मुझे मेरे पुत्रों सहित इस अत्यन्त संकटपूर्ण परिस्थिति से उबार लें। ॥ ८-१६-२३ ॥

कश्यप उवाच एतन्मे भगवान् पृष्टः प्रजाकामस्य पद्मजः । यदाह ते प्रवक्ष्यामि व्रतं केशवतोषणम् ॥ ८-१६-२४ ॥
Śrī Kaśyapa Muni said: When I desired offspring, I placed inquiries before Lord Brahmā, who is born from a lotus flower. Now I shall explain to you the same process Lord Brahmā instructed me, by which Keśava, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, is satisfied. ॥ 8-16-24 ॥

श्री कश्यपमुनि ने कहा : जब मुझे सन्तान की इच्छा हुई तो मैंने कमलपुष्प से उत्पन्न होने वाले ब्रह्माजी से जिज्ञासा की। अब मैं तुम्हें वही विधि बताऊँगा जिसका उपदेश ब्रह्माजी ने मुझे दिया था और जिससे भगवान् केशव तुष्ट होते हैं। ॥ ८-१६-२४ ॥

फाल्गुनस्यामले पक्षे द्वादशाहं पयोव्रतः । अर्चयेदरविन्दाक्षं भक्त्या परमयान्वितः ॥ ८-१६-२५ ॥
In the bright fortnight of the month of Phālguna [February and March], for twelve days ending with Dvādaśī, one should observe the vow of subsisting only on milk and should worship the lotus-eyed Supreme Personality of Godhead with all devotion. ॥ 8-16-25 ॥

फाल्गुन मास (फरवरी-मार्च) के शुक्लपक्ष में द्वादशी तक के बारह दिनों तक मनुष्य को केवल दूध पर आश्रित रहकर व्रत रखना चाहिए और भक्तिपूर्वक कमलनयन भगवान् की पूजा करनी चाहिए। ॥ ८-१६-२५ ॥
