Srimad Bhagavatam
ऋषिरुवाच मनवो मनुपुत्राश्च मुनयश्च महीपते । इन्द्राः सुरगणाश्चैव सर्वे पुरुषशासनाः ॥ ८-१४-२ ॥
Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: The Manus, the sons of Manu, the great sages, the Indras and all the demigods, O King, are appointed by the Supreme Personality of Godhead in His various incarnations such as Yajña. ॥ 8-14-2 ॥
english translation
शुकदेव गोस्वामी ने कहा : हे राजा! सारे मनु, मनु के पुत्र, ऋषि, इन्द्र तथा देवता भगवान् के यज्ञ जैसे विविध अवतारों में नियुक्त किये जाते हैं। ॥ ८-१४-२ ॥
