प्रभावं पौरुषं प्राहुः कालमेके यतो भयम् । अहङ्कारविमूढस्य कर्तुः प्रकृतिमीयुषः ।। ३-२६-१६ ।।

The influence of the Supreme Personality of Godhead is felt in the time factor, which causes fear of death due to the false ego of the deluded soul who has contacted material nature. ।। 3-26-16 ।।

english translation

पूर्ण पुरुषोत्तम भगवान् का प्रभाव काल में अनुभव किया जाता है, क्योंकि यह भौतिक प्रकृति के सम्पर्क में आने वाले मोहित आत्मा के अहंकार के कारण मृत्यु का भय उत्पन्न करता है। ।। ३-२६-१६ ।।

प्रकृतेर्गुणसाम्यस्य निर्विशेषस्य मानवि । चेष्टा यतः स भगवान् काल इत्युपलक्षितः ।। ३-२६-१७ ।।

My dear mother, O daughter of Svāyambhuva Manu, the time factor, as I have explained, is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, from whom the creation begins as a result of the agitation of the neutral, unmanifested nature. ।। 3-26-17 ।।

english translation

हे स्वायंभुव-पुत्री, हे माता, जैसा कि मैने बतलाया काल ही श्रीभगवान् है, जिससे उदासीन (समभाव) एवं अप्रकट प्रकृति के गतिमान होने से सृष्टि प्रारम्भ होती है। ।। ३-२६-१७ ।।

अन्तः पुरुषरूपेण कालरूपेण यो बहिः । समन्वेत्येष सत्त्वानां भगवानात्ममायया ।। ३-२६-१८ ।।

By exhibiting His potencies, the Supreme Personality of Godhead adjusts all these different elements, keeping Himself within as the Supersoul and without as time. ।। 3-26-18 ।।

पूर्ण पुरुषोत्तम भगवान् अपनी शक्तियों का प्रदर्शन करते हुए अपने आपको भीतर से परमात्मा रूप में और बाहर काल-रूप में रखकर विभिन्न तत्त्वों का समन्वयन करते हैं। ।। ३-२६-१८ ।।

दैवात्क्षुभितधर्मिण्यां स्वस्यां योनौ परः पुमान् आधत्त वीर्यं सासूत महत्तत्त्वं हिरण्मयम् ।। ३-२६-१९ ।।

After the Supreme Personality of Godhead impregnates material nature with His internal potency, material nature delivers the sum total of the cosmic intelligence, which is known as Hiraṇmaya. This takes place in material nature when she is agitated by the destinations of the conditioned souls. ।। 3-26-19 ।।

english translation

जब भगवान् अपनी अन्तरंगा शक्ति से प्रकृति में व्याप्त होते हैं, तो प्रकृति समग्र विराट बुद्धि को उत्पन्न करती है, जिसे हिरण्मय कहते हैं। यह तब घटित होता है जब प्रकृति बद्धजीवों के गन्तव्यों द्वारा क्षुब्ध की जाती है। ।। ३-२६-१९ ।।

विश्वमात्मगतं व्यञ्जन् कूटस्थो जगदङ्कुरः । स्वतेजसापिबत्तीव्रमात्मप्रस्वापनं तमः ।। ३-२६-२० ।।

sanskrit

Thus, after manifesting variegatedness, the effulgent mahat-tattva, which contains all the universes within itself, which is the root of all cosmic manifestations and which is not destroyed at the time of annihilation, swallows the darkness that covered the effulgence at the time of dissolution. ।। 3-26-20 ।।

english translation

इस प्रकार तेजस्वी महत् तत्त्व, जिसके भीतर सारे ब्रह्माण्ड समाये हुए हैं, जो समस्त दृश्य जगत का मूल है और जो प्रलय के समय भी नष्ट नहीं होता, अपनी विविधता प्रकट करके उस अंधकार को निगल जाता है, जिसने प्रलय के समय तेज को ढक लिया था। ।। ३-२६-२० ।।
