नैकत्र ते जयति शालिनि पादपद्मं घ्नन्त्या मुहुः करतलेन पतत्पतङ्गम् । मध्यं विषीदति बृहत्स्तनभारभीतं शान्तेव दृष्टिरमला सुशिखासमूहः ॥ ३-२०-३६ ॥
O beautiful woman, when you strike the bouncing ball against the ground with your hand again and again, your lotus feet do not stay in one place. Oppressed by the weight of your full-grown breasts, your waist becomes fatigued, and your clear vision grows dull, as it were. Pray braid your comely hair. ॥ 3-20-36 ॥

हे सुन्दरी, जब तुम धरती से उछलती गेंद को अपने हाथों से बार-बार मारती हो तो तुम्हारे चरण-कमल एक स्थान पर नहीं रुके रहते। तुम्हारे पूर्ण विकसित स्तनों के भार से पीडि़त तुम्हारी कमर थक जाती है और स्वच्छ दृष्टि मन्द पड़ जाती है। कृपया अपने सुन्दर बालों को ठीक से गूँथ तो लो। ॥ ३-२०-३६ ॥

naikatra te jayati zAlini pAdapadmaM ghnantyA muhuH karatalena patatpataGgam । madhyaM viSIdati bRhatstanabhArabhItaM zAnteva dRSTiramalA suzikhAsamUhaH ॥ 3-20-36 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptइति सायन्तनीं सन्ध्यामसुराः प्रमदायतीम् । प्रलोभयन्तीं जगृहुर्मत्वा मूढधियः स्त्रियम् ॥ ३-२०-३७ ॥
The asuras, clouded in their understanding, took the evening twilight to be a beautiful woman showing herself in her alluring form, and they seized her. ॥ 3-20-37 ॥
english translation
जिनकी बुद्धि पर पर्दा पड़ चुका है, ऐसे असुरों ने सन्ध्या को हावभाव करने वाली आकर्षक सुन्दरी मानकर उसको पकड़ लिया। ॥ ३-२०-३७ ॥

iti sAyantanIM sandhyAmasurAH pramadAyatIm । pralobhayantIM jagRhurmatvA mUDhadhiyaH striyam ॥ 3-20-37 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptप्रहस्य भावगम्भीरं जिघ्रन्त्यात्मानमात्मना । कान्त्या ससर्ज भगवान् गन्धर्वाप्सरसां गणान् ॥ ३-२०-३८ ॥
With a laugh full of deep significance, the worshipful Brahmā then evolved by his own loveliness, which seemed to enjoy itself by itself, the hosts of Gandharvas and Apsarās. ॥ 3-20-38 ॥

तब गम्भीर भावपूर्ण हँसी हँसते हुए पूज्य ब्रह्मा ने अपनी कान्ति से, जो अपने सौन्दर्य का मानो आप ही आस्वादन करती थी, गन्धर्वों व अप्सराओं के समूह को उत्पन्न किया। ॥ ३-२०-३८ ॥

prahasya bhAvagambhIraM jighrantyAtmAnamAtmanA । kAntyA sasarja bhagavAn gandharvApsarasAM gaNAn ॥ 3-20-38 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptविससर्ज तनुं तां वै ज्योत्स्नां कान्तिमतीं प्रियाम् । त एव चाददुः प्रीत्या विश्वावसुपुरोगमाः ॥ ३-२०-३९ ॥
After that, Brahmā gave up that shining and beloved form of moonlight. Viśvāvasu and other Gandharvas gladly took possession of it. ॥ 3-20-39 ॥

तत्पश्चात् ब्रह्मा ने वह चाँदनी सा दीप्तिमान तथा सुन्दर रूप त्याग दिया और विश्वावसु तथा अन्य गन्धर्वों ने प्रसन्नतापूर्वक उसे अपना लिया। ॥ ३-२०-३९ ॥

The glorious Brahmā next evolved from his sloth the ghosts and fiends, but he closed his eyes when he saw them stand naked with their hair scattered. ॥ 3-20-40 ॥
english translation
तब पूज्य ब्रह्मा ने अपनी तन्द्रा से भूतों तथा पिशाचों को उत्पन्न किया, किन्तु जब उन्हें नग्न एवं बिखरे बाल वाले देखा तो उन्होंने अपनी आँखें बन्द कर लीं। ॥ ३-२०-४० ॥
