स्वदंष्ट्रयोद्धृत्य महीं निमग्नां स उत्थितः संरुरुचे रसायाः । तत्रापि दैत्यं गदयाऽऽपतन्तं सुनाभसन्दीपिततीव्रमन्युः ॥ ३-१३-३१ ॥
Lord Boar very easily took the earth on His tusks and got it out of the water. Thus He appeared very splendid. Then, His anger glowing like the Sudarśana wheel, He immediately killed the demon [Hiraṇyākṣa], although he tried to fight with the Lord. ॥ 3-13-31 ॥

भगवान् वराह ने बड़ी ही आसानी से पृथ्वी को अपनी दाढ़ों में ले लिया और वे उसे जल से बाहर निकाल लाये। इस तरह वे अत्यन्त भव्य लग रहे थे। तब उनका क्रोध सुदर्शन चक्र की तरह चमक रहा था और उन्होंने तुरन्त उस असुर (हिरण्याक्ष) को मार डाला, यद्यपि वह भगवान् से लडऩे का प्रयास कर रहा था। ॥ ३-१३-३१ ॥

जघान रुन्धानमसह्यविक्रमं स लीलयेभं मृगराडिवाम्भसि । तद्रक्तपङ्काङ्कितगण्डतुण्डो यथा गजेन्द्रो जगतीं विभिन्दन् ॥ ३-१३-३२ ॥
Thereupon Lord Boar killed the demon within the water, just as a lion kills an elephant. The cheeks and tongue of the Lord became smeared with the blood of the demon, just as an elephant becomes reddish from digging in the purple earth. ॥ 3-13-32 ॥

तत्पश्चात् भगवान् वराह ने उस असुर को जल के भीतर मार डाला जिस तरह एक सिंह हाथी को मारता है। भगवान् के गाल तथा जीभ उस असुर के रक्त से उसी तरह रँगे गये जिस तरह हाथी नीललोहित पृथ्वी को खोदने से लाल हो जाता है। ॥ ३-१३-३२ ॥

तमालनीलं सितदन्तकोट्या क्ष्मामुत्क्षिपन्तं गजलीलयाङ्ग । प्रज्ञाय बद्धाञ्जलयोऽनुवाकैः विरिञ्चिमुख्या उपतस्थुरीशम् ॥ ३-१३-३३ ॥
Then the Lord, playing like an elephant, suspended the earth on the edge of His curved white tusks. He assumed a bluish complexion like that of a tamāla tree, and thus the sages, headed by Brahmā, could understand Him to be the Supreme Personality of Godhead and offered respectful obeisances unto the Lord. ॥ 3-13-33 ॥

तब हाथी की तरह क्रीड़ा करते हुए भगवान् ने पृथ्वी को अपने सफेद टेढ़े दाँतों के किनारे पर अटका लिया। उनके शरीर का वर्ण तमाल वृक्ष जैसा नीलाभ हो गया और तब ब्रह्मा इत्यादि ऋषि उन्हें पूर्ण पुरुषोत्तम भगवान् समझ सके और उन्होंने सादर नमस्कार किया। ॥ ३-१३-३३ ॥

ऋषय ऊचुः जितं जितं तेऽजितयज्ञभावन त्रयीं तनुं स्वां परिधुन्वते नमः । यद्रोमगर्तेषु निलिल्युरध्वरास्तस्मै नमः कारणसूकराय ते ॥ ३-१३-३४ ॥
All the sages uttered with great respect: O unconquerable enjoyer of all sacrifices, all glories and all victories unto You! You are moving in Your form of the personified Vedas, and in the hair holes of Your body the oceans are submerged. For certain reasons [to uplift the earth] You have now assumed the form of a boar. ॥ 3-13-34 ॥

सारे ऋषि अति आदर के साथ बोल पड़े“ हे समस्त यज्ञों के अजेय भोक्ता, आपकी जय हो, जय हो, आप साक्षात् वेदों के रूप में विचरण कर रहे हैं और आपके शरीर के रोमकूपों में सारे सागर समाये हुए हैं। आपने किन्हीं कारणों से (पृथ्वी का उद्धार करने के लिए) अब सूकर का रूप धारण किया है। ॥ ३-१३-३४ ॥

रूपं तवैतन्ननु दुष्कृतात्मनां दुर्दर्शनं देव यदध्वरात्मकम् । छन्दांसि यस्य त्वचि बर्हिरोमस्वाज्यं दृशि त्वङ्घ्रिषु चातुर्होत्रम् ॥ ३-१३-३५ ॥
O Lord, Your form is worshipable by performances of sacrifice, but souls who are simply miscreants are unable to see it. All the Vedic hymns, Gāyatrī and others, are in the touch of Your skin. In Your bodily hairs is the kuśa grass, in Your eyes is the clarified butter, and in Your four legs are the four kinds of fruitive activities. ॥ 3-13-35 ॥

हे प्रभु, आपका स्वरूप यज्ञ सम्पन्न करके पूजा के योग्य है, किन्तु दुष्टात्माएँ इसे देख पाने में असमर्थ हैं। गायत्री तथा अन्य सारे वैदिक मंत्र आपकी त्वचा के सम्पर्क में हैं। आपके शरीर के रोम कुश हैं, आपकी आँखें घृत हैं और आपके चार पाँव चार प्रकार के सकाम कर्म हैं। ॥ ३-१३-३५ ॥
