नायं सुखापो भगवान् देहिनां गोपिकासुतः । ज्ञानिनां चात्मभूतानां यथा भक्तिमतामिह ॥ १०-९-२१ ॥
The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Kṛṣṇa, the son of mother Yaśodā, is accessible to devotees engaged in spontaneous loving service, but He is not as easily accessible to mental speculators, to those striving for self-realization by severe austerities and penances, or to those who consider the body the same as the self. ॥ 10-9-21 ॥

माता यशोदा के पुत्र भगवान् कृष्ण स्वत: स्फूर्त प्रेमाभक्ति में लगे भक्तों के लिए सुलभ हैं किन्तु वे मनोधर्मियों, घोर तपों द्वारा आत्म-साक्षात्कार के लिये प्रयास करने वालों अथवा शरीर को ही आत्मा मानने वालों के लिए सुलभ नहीं होते। ॥ १०-९-२१ ॥

कृष्णस्तु गृहकृत्येषु व्यग्रायां मातरि प्रभुः । अद्राक्षीदर्जुनौ पूर्वं गुह्यकौ धनदात्मजौ ॥ १०-९-२२ ॥
While mother Yaśodā was very busy with household affairs, the Supreme Lord, Kṛṣṇa, observed twin trees known as yamala-arjuna, which in a former millennium had been the demigod sons of Kuvera. ॥ 10-9-22 ॥

जब माता यशोदा घरेलू कार्यों में अत्यधिक व्यस्त थीं तभी भगवान् कृष्ण ने दो जुड़वाँ वृक्ष देखे, जिन्हें यमलार्जुन कहा जाता था। ये पूर्व युग में कुवेर के देव-पुत्र थे। ॥ १०-९-२२ ॥

पुरा नारदशापेन वृक्षतां प्रापितौ मदात् । नलकूबरमणिग्रीवाविति ख्यातौ श्रियान्वितौ ॥ १०-९-२३ ॥
In their former birth, these two sons, known as Nalakūvara and Maṇigrīva, were extremely opulent and fortunate. But because of pride and false prestige, they did not care about anyone, and thus Nārada Muni cursed them to become trees. ॥ 10-9-23 ॥
english translation
पूर्वजन्म में नलकूवर तथा मणिग्रीव नामक ये दोनों पुत्र अत्यन्त ऐश्वर्यवान तथा भाग्यशाली थे। किन्तु गर्व तथा मिथ्या प्रतिष्ठा के कारण उन्होंने किसी की परवाह नहीं की इसलिए नारदमुनि ने उन्हें वृक्ष बन जाने का शाप दे डाला। ॥ १०-९-२३ ॥
