ततस्त आशुतोषेभ्यो लब्धराज्यश्रियोद्धताः । मत्ताः प्रमत्ता वरदान् विस्मरन्त्यवजानते ।। १०-८८-११ ।।

sanskrit

When people receive kingly opulences from these deities, they become arrogant, intoxicated with pride and neglectful of their duties. They dare to offend even the demigods who have bestowed benedictions upon them. ।। 10-88-11 ।।

english translation

जब लोगों को इन देवताओं से राजसी ऐश्वर्य प्राप्त होता है, तो वे अहंकारी, अहंकार से मतवाले और अपने कर्तव्यों के प्रति लापरवाह हो जाते हैं। वे उन देवताओं को भी अपमानित करने का साहस करते हैं जिन्होंने उन्हें आशीर्वाद दिया है। ।। १०-८८-११ ।।
