ततो ययौ रामपुरोगमैः शनैः शृगालमध्यादिव भागहृद्धरिः ॥ १०-५३-५६ ॥
With Balarāma in the lead, He slowly exited, like a lion removing his prey from the midst of jackals. ॥ 10-53-56 ॥

बलराम को आगे करके वे धीरे-धीरे बाहर निकले, जैसे कोई शेर सियारों के बीच से अपना शिकार निकाल रहा हो। ॥ १०-५३-५६ ॥

तं मानिनः स्वाभिभवं यशःक्षयं परे जरासन्धमुखा न सेहिरे । अहो धिगस्मान्यश आत्तधन्वनां गोपैर्हृतं केसरिणां मृगैरिव ॥ १०-५३-५७ ॥
The kings inimical to the Lord, headed by Jarāsandha, could not tolerate this humiliating defeat. They exclaimed, “Oh, damn us! Though we are mighty archers, mere cowherds have stolen our honor, just as puny animals might steal the honor of lions!” ॥ 10-53-57 ॥

जरासंध सहित भगवान के शत्रु राजा इस अपमानजनक हार को बर्दाश्त नहीं कर सके। उन्होंने चिल्लाकर कहा, “ओह, हम पर लानत है! यद्यपि हम शक्तिशाली धनुर्धर हैं, केवल चरवाहों ने हमारा सम्मान चुरा लिया है, जैसे छोटे जानवर शेरों का सम्मान चुरा सकते हैं!” ॥ १०-५३-५७ ॥
