दुरारार्ध्यं समाराध्य विष्णुं सर्वेश्वरेश्वरम् । यो वृणीते मनोग्राह्यमसत्त्वात्कुमनीष्यसौ ।। १०-४८-११ ।।

sanskrit

Lord Viṣṇu, the Supreme Lord of all lords, is ordinarily difficult to approach. One who has properly worshiped Him and then chooses the benediction of mundane sense gratification is certainly of poor intelligence, for he is satisfied with an insignificant result. ।। 10-48-11 ।।

english translation

सामान्यतया समस्त ईश्वरों के परम ईश्वर भगवान् विष्णु तक पहुँच पाना कठिन है। अत: जो व्यक्ति उनकी समुचित पूजा करने के बाद उनसे इन्द्रियतृप्ति का वर माँगता है, वह निश्चित रूप से कम बुद्धि वाला (दुर्बुद्धि) है क्योंकि वह तुच्छ फल से तुष्ट हो जाता है। ।। १०-४८-११ ।।
