स तल्पात्तूर्णमुत्थाय कालोऽयमिति विह्वलः । सूतीगृहमगात्तूर्णं प्रस्खलन् मुक्तमूर्धजः ॥ १०-४-३ ॥
Kaṁsa immediately got up from bed, thinking, “Here is Kāla, the supreme time factor, which has taken birth to kill me!” Thus overwhelmed, Kaṁsa, his hair scattered on his head, at once approached the place where the child had been born. ॥ 10-4-3 ॥

कंस तुरन्त ही बिस्तर से यह सोचते हुए उठ खड़ा हुआ, “यह रहा काल, जिसने मेरा वध करने के लिए जन्म लिया है।” इस तरह उद्विग्न एवं अपने सिर के बाल बिखराए कंस तुरन्त ही उस स्थान पर पहुँचा जहाँ शिशु ने जन्म लिया था। ॥ १०-४-३ ॥
