नष्टे लोके द्विपरार्धावसाने महाभूतेष्वादिभूतं गतेषु । व्यक्तेऽव्यक्तं कालवेगेन याते भवानेकः शिष्यते शेषसंज्ञः ॥ १०-३-२५ ॥
After millions of years, at the time of cosmic annihilation, when everything, manifested and unmanifested, is annihilated by the force of time, the five gross elements enter into the subtle conception, and the manifested categories enter into the unmanifested substance. At that time, You alone remain, and You are known as Ananta Śeṣa-nāga. ॥ 10-3-25 ॥

लाखों वर्षों बाद विश्व-संहार के समय जब सारी व्यक्त तथा अव्यक्त वस्तुएँ काल के वेग से नष्ट हो जाती हैं, तो पाँचों स्थूल तत्त्व सूक्ष्म स्वरूप ग्रहण करते हैं और व्यक्त वस्तुएँ अव्यक्त बन जाती हैं। उस समय आप ही रहते हैं और आप अनन्त शेष-नाग कहलाते हैं। ॥ १०-३-२५ ॥
