कथ्यतां मे पितः कोऽयं सम्भ्रमो व उपागतः । किं फलं कस्य चोद्देशः केन वा साध्यते मखः ॥ १०-२४-३ ॥
[Lord Kṛṣṇa said:] My dear father, kindly explain to Me what this great endeavor of yours is all about. What is it meant to accomplish? If this is a ritual sacrifice, then for whose satisfaction is it intended and by what means is it going to be executed? ॥ 10-24-3 ॥

[भगवान् कृष्ण ने कहा]: हे पिताश्री, आप कृपा करके मुझे बतलायें कि आप इतना सारा महत् प्रयास किसलिए कर रहे हैं? आप क्या करना चाह रहे हैं? यदि यह कर्मकाण्डी यज्ञ है, तो यह किसकी तुष्टि हेतु किया जा रहा है और यह किन साधनों से सम्पन्न किया जायेगा? ॥ १०-२४-३ ॥
