अथानुस्मृत्य विप्रास्ते अन्वतप्यन् कृतागसः । यद्विश्वेश्वरयोर्याच्ञामहन्म नृविडम्बयोः ।। १०-२३-३७ ।।

sanskrit

The brāhmaṇas then came to their senses and began to feel great remorse. They thought, “We have sinned, for we have denied the request of the two Lords of the universe, who deceptively appeared as ordinary human beings.” ।। 10-23-37 ।।

english translation

तब ब्राह्मणों को चेत हुआ और वे बहुत अत्यधिक पछताने लगे। उन्होंने सोचा, “हमसे बहुत पाप हुआ है क्योंकि हमने सामान्य मनुष्य के वेश में प्रकट हुए ब्रह्माण्ड के दो स्वामियों की याचना अस्वीकार कर दी है।” ।। १०-२३-३७ ।।
