तां रात्रिं तत्र राजेन्द्र क्षुत्तृड्भ्यां श्रमकर्शिताः । ऊषुर्व्रजौकसो गावः कालिन्द्या उपकूलतः ॥ १०-१७-२० ॥
O best of kings [Parīkṣit], because the residents of Vṛndāvana were feeling very weak from hunger, thirst and fatigue, they and the cows spent the night where they were, lying down near the bank of the Kālindī. ॥ 10-17-20 ॥
english translation
हे नृपश्रेष्ठ (परीक्षित), चूँकि वृन्दावन के निवासी भूख, प्यास तथा थकान के कारण अत्यन्त निर्बल हो रहे थे अत: उन्होंने तथा गौवों ने कालिन्दी के तट के निकट ही लेटकर वहीं रात बिताई। ॥ १०-१७-२० ॥
